Our Ribbons of Life Information Table is available at most activities in Ventura County that support the organization.  It is always set up and information is available during the monthly BreastFest’s , at Mimi’s, and is “staffed” by our dedicated volunteers.  Carlene F. is the designated overseer at the table, along with other volunteers, for community fundraisers.

Andrea Grace Soter-Simonson Foundation  Provides financial assistance, support, connection to resources and encouragement to families challenged by cancer.  This was established to honor Andrea, who passed away from ovarian cancer.

Breast Cancer Action
Founded in 1990, Breast Cancer Action was started by women in a San Francisco, breast cancer support group who were frustrated by the lack of knowledge about their disease. Led by the late Elenore Pred, they created an organization that would help transform breast cancer from a private medical crisis to a public health emergency.

BCCTP is a state-wide program in California that covers treatment costs for low-income, uninsured women and men who are over the age of 18 and diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer. For more information, call (800)-824-0088.

Cleaning for a Reason  No charge house cleaning for people undergoing chemotherapy.  Ventura participant is Merry Maids.

Hurricane Voices Hurricane Voices is a not-for-profit organization advancing the rebellion against breast cancer. Services: The Family Reading List, a valuable tool that enables parents as patients to find supportive family reading materials. Inflammatory Breast Cancer Help and Support Inflammatory breast cancer patient Menya Wolfe and her husband Pete Bevin created this educational Web site in 1997 as a resource for women with IBC. It includes links to support email lists, patient stories and medical resources.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation The IBC Research Foundation is the only cancer research organization dedicated specifically to finding the cause of IBC. The nonprofit’s Web site offers research updates, survivor stories and information for the newly diagnosed. 1-877-786-7422

Keep A Breast Foundation ~ Treasure Chest Program The Keep A Breast Foundation’s Treasured Chest program strives to give women whom are newly diagnosed with breast cancer a unique opportunity to document their body and their feelings at a specific time in their treatment by turning their casted torso into a beautiful piece of art. The Keep A Breast Foundation Breast Casts™ are part of KAB’s unique education and support programs that harness the power of art and artistic expression to communicate complex feelings and thoughts about health, the female form and ultimately about breast cancer.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer LBBC’s mission is to empower all women affected by breast cancer to live as long as possible with the best quality of life. Founded in 1991 in response to a woman’s need for information, connection and support after completing treatment, today LBBC’s programs have expanded to assist women at all stages of diagnosis, treatment and recovery; women at high risk for developing breast cancer; caregivers and healthcare providers; and specific medically underserved populations. LympheDIVAs  Programs for financially limited people for free or reduced fees for lymph sleeves.  If you can’t afford to purchase a lymphedema sleeve, gauntlet and/or glove and you can’t manage your post-mastectomy swelling, Crickett’s Answer and LympheDIVAs want to help.

MAMM is a website with articles and resources. It also comes in magazine form, which can be subscribed from this site. MAMM is for everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer—directly or indirectly. It is for women and their families living with cancer, for those newly diagnosed and for longtime survivors. It is for all of who yearn for a broad range of factual and accessible information about cancer.

National Breast Cancer Coalition The nation’s largest breast cancer advocacy group, with more than 600 member organizations and 70,000 individual members and supporters. Plastic Surgery Information  Brooke Krueger and her Junior Girl Scouts are participating in a Breast Cancer Awareness program and want to share a helpful resource they found.  Brooke says, “it (the web site) has some great information and resources on various topics surrounding breast cancer”  The Junior Scouts do their best to follow the slogan of “Do a good turn daily”.  Sharing this resource and viewing Ribbons of Life web site has “really opened their eyes and hearts”.  Thank you Scouts!

Young Survival Coalition The Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the only international, non-profit network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the concerns and issues that are unique to young women and breast cancer.
